Pip has hurt his leg

He'll live.....Angie you are becoming a worrybutt..... I understand why they are soo small and delicate but he'll be fine I remember Oz jumpping from the back window when I was in the flat when he was about 4 months old....I was in the garden and he just somehow got through the back bedroom window (I lived in a first floor converted house flat) he just jumped froze.....then pottered off and spent all day shaking himself (like he had jarred all his bones) Idiot cat ....he never learned your Pip sounds the same

I am a worrybutt! But he looks so sad and vulnerable, limping.

Sympathy from a fellow worrybutt! They seem so small and fragile and look so sad when they're hurting....... even though they're really as tough as old boots! Dandy fell out of a tree when he was a small kitten and I was fit to be tied!! After vet hours, of course. But he was absolutely fine, I was the one who needed a doctor for my nerves! (G & T helped...)

Hopefully it's a something or nothing and Pip is much better after a good sleep. He's probably never felt pain before, so no wonder he's making a fuss.

He's still limping this morning. I am sad because first thing in the morning is when he's been like a dervish and we play mice under the bed clothes - although he has been pouncing, I've tried not to wriggle my toes too much! Have made an appointment for the vet at 11.50 We have to go to the main clinic about 10 miles away, but I'd rather someone who knows tell me that no bones are out of place. I am hoping it's just a little strain or sprain. I'll let you all know as soon as I get home.

Just to let you know - the visit was inconclusive. Pip MAY have a fracture of his knee, there is a small swelling but he wasn't letting on to the vet if anything hurt. We just have to see if he improves - if his limping gets worse or hasn't improved by Friday, we have to take him back. Because it could be in a place where the growth plates are any fracture could potentially be a nightmare - nothing would show on an X-ray and a specialist would be needed.

The vet said she always takes signs of limping very seriously in such young animals, so reassured us we were not being unnecessarily anxious.

Please will everyone keep their fingers crossed that he improves on his own? He is being a very good kitten and is resting in his crate atm.
