Re: reporting my absence

Oh Kel. Poor you (and of course poor Ashleigh - probably doubly worried when she saw her old lady hitting the deck ). Seriously, it must be so worrying for you as her Mum to see her going through this. Still, as you say it's all over now and you're both back home.

Lots of get well soon wishes to your little one.

Re: reporting my absence

thanks.

She was really worried about having the anaesthetic & so they gave her a sedative prior to going to theatre. It worked a treat & she was acting like a drunk, silly singing & laughing. Went to theatre & we stayed with her whilst she had the anaesthetic. She was a bit tearful but ok. I shed a tear & we went for a walk into Birmingham. She was in theatre for 2 hours then we got the ok to go and get her. The nurse took us there & I was quite shocked to see how groggy she looked, but I was brave & we walked back to the ward whilst the nurses pushed Ashleigh in her bed. Got back in her room (we were lucky & had a private room on the ward, not sure why but it was good!) I was a bit worried as she looked so rough & I got a bit hot & sweaty. Then she said she felt sick & started gagging but as the operation was on her throat it was sore & hurting her, with that I remember saying I needed to go out of the room.... walked out the room and bump! that's me fainted! oh dear, my poor husband was trying to look after our daughter & looking over his shoulder at me just outside with a nurse rushing to my aid with a glass of water.
I was soon on my feet and back in the room with Ashleigh.
She slept most of the day & is getting stronger every day.
Eating is difficult but she's on sloppy food only for 10 days.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

Re: reporting my absence

It's like OH . . . he was decidedly green when they pulled out a drain I had in my throat after an op . . . it was a disgusting sensation for me, but probably 100 times worse for him as he was eyeballing it all at the time and he's pretty squeamish.

I guess it was the nerves, worry and stress taking over with you . . .

Re: reporting my absence

You did it to get a bed to yourself didn't you.

Seriously I think its worse seeing someone you love look ill than being ill yourself.............glad Ashleigh is on the mend.
