Essay on its way . . .
VERY interesting! We saw 2 cottages, the first was smaller, with a much smaller garden. But it did have a wonderful barn attached to it, ripe for converting. It wasn't a mega-big barn though. The cottage was incredibly beautifully decorated and had been restored using fully sympathic materials. AND it was thatched
The 2nd cottage was larger, on 3 floors. Had been lived in by older people and had
hideous carpets, decor, kitchen and bathrooms

and the beams were caked with black shiney paint. It had a 1/3 of an acre garden, with a 1920's summer house. It also had a
huge garage and workshop which was about 2/3 the size of the office we are currently renting.
Being suckers for punishment, we have fallen hook, line and sinker for the 2nd property. The 1st was just that little bit too small for the 4 of us, however we're not scared of renovation work - and most of it is not major structural, simply a case of relaying the rooms out a bit by taking out the stud walls that have been put in over the years . . . and lots of TLC!
So, full speed ahead with trying to get ours sold as the house, garden and potential office all in one are just too good to be true
