Re: on the move.........

Wow - how exciting Charlie - I love moving house.
We've lived in 3 places in our 13 years of marriage & I just love all the excitement of moving.... in fact I think it's about time we were off too. Only joking, I feel quite settled here & if we ever get straight after the builders it will be great.

Re: on the move.........

Best of luck, my sister has just done the same for the second time in 6yrs! This time prompted by the school her son will have to go to if she stays here. The house is fabulous, the area they are in is beautiful, but the school has not had good reports. What has prompted your move, and would you like to buy my sisters house?
Dawn.

Re: on the move.........

Good luck!
We nearly did it a couple of weeks ago. Had the estate agent round, had a keen buyer (who'd already sold and was keen to proceed) lined up to visit, but we chickened out at the last minute. Ho hum!

Re: on the move.........

Thanks for the support everyone - it is daunting, but also very exciting!!!

Fran - it's been prompted by wanting to move to another area of town and wanting a bigger house and garden. I want to keep to the same side of town, just a nicer area.

My house was great for a first time buy when I got it 5 years ago and it was just me and 2 cats - but I have out-grown and out-catted it now!!!

Also, every now and then I get a lodger in for a couple of months to help pay the bills, but with kittens etc and only one spare room I haven't been able to do that for a while - so I need more space!!!

I'll keep you all posted.

I don't think my house or garden has ever looked so clean!!!!

Karen

I'm in a 2 bed now, but it's right on the road, only has one reception room and the garden isn't huge

I'm looking for another 2 bed, but with 2 reception rooms too and a nicer garden and preferably set back from the road. Surely not too much to ask!!!!

Re: on the move.........

I felt very bad
The EA had put cards through the door saying they had a prospective buyer looking for ... well, a house just like ours. So I did al the tidying etc, showed the EA round, was quoted a probable price that made us go , booked for the prospective buyer to come round etc etc. Then we took the afternoon off, went on a tour of houses we had spotted on the net (you know www.rightmove.co.uk, don't you?) and decided the best place for us was .... where we are now.
I felt very embarrassed phoning to call the whole thing off.

Ho hum
