Terriers are diggers! I paved over the front yard with flagstones, and just have borders around it for plants, shrubs...was very glad to get rid of the grass and the mowing! Does your OH realize that he'll have to ferrtilize and mow ...and mow... and mow !!!!

Or if we continue to have hot dry summers it's either constant watering, if allowed, or nasty parched dead stuff. Pave it!

And in addition to the dogs, there are moles, and voles, and squirrels who dig holes in the lawn...sounds like an interesting Summer at your house.......
