on the one hand she has a mountain that she can climb, on the other, she has a new kitchen to explore... she just doesnt know what to do

I know you got them just for her to have fun with! Bet she will love the boxes too - don't know a cat who doesn't love an empty cardboard box!

You could leave her the boxes, then she'd have the best of both worlds. And an obstacle-course is just what you've always wanted, isn't it?
