Recommendations for a nice restaurant in London

I went on the London Eye almost 6 years ago and although sceptical thought it was great. Didn't make me feel wobbly at all, even though heights are normally a bit dodgy for me and the views were great, it was a really nice half an hour. I would do it again, definitely (actually hinted to OH that proposing there would be romantic but he has obviously chosen to ignore me!

).

Never had a posh meal in London as it has normally cost us a fortune to get there and do whatever we are going there for so we normally end up in Pizza Hut or similar!

Have been intending to go to the Mongolian Barbecue in Covent Garden for ages though. Don't worry if the restaurant isn't especially close to the London Eye, the tube is pretty easy to work out as long as you don't have kids with you!

I hate heights - won't even go up a step ladder

, but the eye is an amazing experience, and you don't actualy get too much of a sensation of height! Have been 3 times since it went up and plan to go more!!

A bit like BM - it is one of the few attractions I have been to in London - having lived either in or around London all my life I've only been to the museums, a couple of art galleries and Madam Tussauds (gets boring of you're older than 10 years old

) Shame on me!!!

Emma, we didn't book a table and even got in at the height of summer onto the terrace. It's quite spacious so you should get a table. Failing Pont De La Tour - there is (I think an ASK and a Pizza Express - or similar) only a couple of doors away with a similar terrace set-up.

Have a wonderful time - I'm sure you'll love the eye

The OH said to me "that person on catpages who recommended the restaurant are they rich or something" that was when he saw the prices

I did tell him that we could always eat in McDonalds

lol It made me chuckle as he works in London and he knows that London prices are like, a few years back we went to the OXO tower for a meal and drinks with two friends, we all had such a fantistic time and I reckon we spent in there including the meal and drinks about £150 each... It was one of the best evenings I have ever spent, it was a very hot summers day and we had our meal outside overlooking the Thames, then went inside for cocktails, it will be an evening I will never forget

LOL Emma!!! I wish I was rich - I just spend money as if I was!!! The bistro isn't too pricey at all, the restaurant is a bit 'gourmet' and therefore costs more. We took our Mums there for mother's day 4 or 5 years ago (after a 'flight' on the eye and then took them on a boat trip up the river). Talk about spoiling the old birds

Anyways it was (from memory) about £170 for the 4 of us, including wine - and me and my Mum can put away a bit of wine

. So worked out about £35.00 per head . . .

LOL Yola, I told him he can have a main course only!!!! hahahaha Yes the Bistro prices seemed fine

Also we will be dressed more for the bistro rather than the restaurant.

I think it was the cocktails at the OXO that bumped up the cost

it was good fun though

I think the London Eye is fantastic, have been on it twice now. It is so slow that you don't really notice the height and the views are amazing. I am a Londoner and until we moved here a few years ago, had lived there all my life. We have been to a lot of the attractions, either with school or taken the kids to all the usual places, museums, etc. Eating out in London is pricey, we tend to stick to the chain estaurants, e.g pizza hut, however I would recommend Maxwells at Covent Garden.

when we go into the city center, we normally go to a noodle bar for some grub, all u can eat type one

then we go into a pub called the final bid, (cant remember the road

) but theyt do a meal n a drink for 4-00

actully its not bad either, last time we was there (theirs an auction house next door) we saw nigel mansells formula 1 race car, it was going up for sale.
and i get nervous about going into central london, so now i go on a friday,being a certain religeons holy day no worry about any possible problems then. and sorry if ive offended anyone here.
but i can take u to all the discount clothing shops along tottemham court road
