Re: Wireless Networks :)

Hi Fran, ours is a Netgear as well So far I am very impressed with it, for some strange reason the room where I have my computer is the coldest in our home, and it isn't very practical to move my computer anywhere else so the laptop is going to be a godsend well it looks like I am going to get about 3 hours battery life, but the laptop is expandable and we can fit another 3 batteries to it, not sure if we will though.

Time for the power lead soon...lol

Re: Wireless Networks :)

To be honest Emma I usually run my laptop from the mains anyhow. I rarely rely on the battery except when I move it to the printer ( I am thinking of going wireless with this too)

Good idea Fran, I think I would go wireless with everything if I could afford to!!! lol

Re: Wireless Networks :)

I have wireless and it's fab being able to sit on the comfort of my own sofa and surf - bliss.

I do find that the signal drops out an awful lot if the laptop isn't plugged into the mains tho', grrr

Re: Wireless Networks :)

LMC my signal seems to be fine even when using the battery, athough the battery does seem to go down fairly quicky (about 3 hours) and when it goes it just goes lol

Re: Wireless Networks :)

My battery only lasts about one hour so I am always on the mains.

LMC I have bought an aerial booster for the wireless network for my daughter's pc and this has helped the signal dramatically!!

Re: Wireless Networks :)

Wireless is great, I might understand it more if my OH didn't make it so complicated though!! OH was a bit ambitious with our network though, our neighbours three doors away can pick up the signal (but not use it because it is encrypted)!!
