Re: Kitten just died in my arms!

I'm so glad she has eaten even if it's only a small amount. That is so sad about the kitten, you have been doing a hard job with her and the kits, and at least the others seem to be thriving. You're doing your best; rearing newborns can be difficult; no wonder you're stressed with no one to help you. Wish I weren't on the other side of the Pond, I'd be glad to help. Hang in there....

I'm pleased Amber has eaten. Keep trying her with small amounts of things you know she'll eat . . .

You may have already tried this and drawn a blank, but can't the nearest branch of Cats' Protection/RSPCA or similar not help by putting you in touch with any volunteers in your area? After all, your cat's wellbeing and that of her kittens depends on you being able to get a break now and again. I know that if we were contacted in this situation we would do all we could to help you.

Re: Kitten just died in my arms!

So sorry you lost this little one. It is possible that although you thought Amber had no milk at first that in fact she did and that the two kittens that died did in fact suckle that first day and tae in the colostrum.

Kittens do not necessarily die immediately from the blood incompatibility issue but fade over days. Neither do the have to show any signs of 'disease'. I still believe that is what has happened. Hopefully the others didn't suckle in that first day.

Having been there I can totally relate to how you are feeling. 5 of Kirah's 6 kittens just faded in my arms day after day. Truely heartbreaking. Keep your chin up.

I would try and get some Royal Canin babymilk rather than the Cimicat. Most breeders use it and you only need to feed every three hours so a bit more time for a sleep.

Oh, that is comforting news from Kay, it might explain why they faded; God knows you did all you could to save the little, ones. Hope Amber is still eating?
