We have got the cold air here too DM, although nowhere near as cold as you have...Pleasant enough to go for a walk...
I got the stamps, why are they called forever stamps??

Because they will still be useable whenever the postal rates go up again. For example, if you had a book of them and the rates went up 2 cents, you wouldn't have to buy some 2 cent stamps to add to these forever ones. They are "forever" useable just as they are regardless of the current rate. The things the Post Office comes up with!! Several people I know bought gazillions of them when they were first issued a while back so as to avoid any future rate hikes ....

Thats a good idea, pity the UK doe not do something like that

Moli, they do that here too! If you buy a stamp with 1st or 2nd class written on it (rather than the monetary value), they are valid even if the rate subsequently changes!!

I'm glad Yola told you that Moli - yes, she's quite right - I discovered a few 2nd class left over from last Christmas that are still "legal"!
