Re: Sandy's Babies

Jess I just collected my wee boy on Sat. The breeder had him on Hills and natures own dry food with whiskas pouches a couple of ties a day. She also added cooked chicken breast or fish to it. He got whiskas kitten milk and water. Hope that helps.
I'm changing his food gradually.

Re: Sandy's Babies

Hi Jess, lovely piccies!!

My kittens are having whiskers kitten meat (tins) and Natures menu kitten pouches. I've also mixed in a little whiskers kitten pouches the one in jelly. They have access to Royal Canin baby cat biscuits too. I feed just fresh water, I'm not a lover of these cat milks. They are having an occasional feed from mum although I think it's more of a comfort thing as her milk has almost gone now.

Regarding where to put them. I have two Labrador Retrievers, who would absolutely love them but I would be scared the kittens might get hurt with the Labs being so boisterous. The dogs are not allowed upstairs so at the moment, I've moved the kittens back upstairs and put them in a bedroom with all their toys etc. I allow them supervised outings of the upstairs only, where the dogs can't get. As they get bigger and stronger I will allow them roam of the full house. But at the minute I am happy with this arrangement and I think it's enough for the kittens at the stage they are at right now. I have just started introducing the other cats to them. That's fun I can tell you!

Re: Sandy's Babies

Isnt it though At first he was so afraid of them. Kinda reminds me of a new dad with an infant But now he lays with them if Sandy is off doing something, or even when she is there. He grooms them and watches from his 'hidey hole' while they are playing and exploring. Its really cute to watch.

Sandy has access to Chicken Soup Kitten food and one meal a day of Wellness Kitten can food mixed with a kitten formula (it says that it helps the lactating mother as well as eases the weaning process). She also gets other can food, to help keep her very hydrated.
