I was in the kitchen petting Purrdie. Nothing strange than that.
Then I came into the living room. She started yowling, I thought she had got locked in but no she was having a drink when I went back through. She has never made that noise before. How old are they when they can start to get "the" urge?

It seems a little early for her to be calling if you ask me but I'm sure Sam will correct me if I'm wrong....I've never had a cat call as young as that. The 'call' is very distinctive and not like any of their usual meows. It is persistent too and they usually look for an escape route out. Also I find that when you have queen in call, you usually have all the local Tom cat population hovering in the garden

Phew, she must have just been shouting on me as I had left her. Thank you!
At what age do they start???

Well I would say it varies queen to queen and breed to breed Jac. I'm sure Sam will be better able to offer advice as mine with cats reproductive cycles is limited. I would think 6 months would be about the earliest. Maud was 18 months old before she had her first call
