This is a picture to try and explain what they look like. The quality of pictures aint great but it will give you an idea.

On this picture you can hardly see the nose but the top of nose leather is level with lower eye lid

This picture you can see the top of his nose is actually higher then his bottom eye lid.It will go higher as hes only a baby.

My sizing of these pictures is driving me mad.I cant seem to get them any other size except this small or really big Prefer the big ones myself

its not easy but i can normaly tell at about 4 days old which will be ultra.he will change as he fills out.Theres also different types of ultra, the extreme being i think the worst. There top of nose is level with the top eye lid and they look like there mouths wont shut. These were all the rage a little while ago but luckly sence has previlled and now dont see to many of them.

So when you breed you never know whether they will be ultra until they are born?

well if to ultras are bred together then the chances are much higher but you also risk eye problems
My white mum is very open and she went to a very ultra and we had one ultra kitten out of 4.
It is pot luck.
My new kitten is from ultra x open and theres 2 ultra babies out of 4.But the other 2 are very open

But Mags thats the joy.I love the genetic side of it,and ive also proved that certain colours can be bred with certain combinations.Saffy my colourpoint according to the GCCF is impossable, but she is here to prove them wrong.I could have a litter with no ultra what so ever,or colours that i dont breed like solid colours which i sometimes get.Its always a surprise

I agree the genetic side of it must be very interesting Sam, it's just that my brain is a lot older than yours and it takes a lot longer to sink in! :-D
