Claude and Clooney now know how to use the cat flap and go into the porch and eat the big cat's food  They now won't entertain Whiskas kitten food and will only eat Classic. They will eat the kitten biscuits but I am worried that they are not getting all the nutrients they need for growth :(

No it's not right, but ollie always used to pinch the big cats food, I gave up in the end and let him have it!!

I have done the same Moli. Today, when I went to the supermarket I didn't buy any kitten food. I am just putting it in the bin

When we had Sam he was sick a lot with whiskas kitten food and the vet said it was too rich for him. He suggested we put him on one of the cheaper catfoods that aren't so rich.....he was fine after that.

They were fine when they were eating it Mags, no sickness or diarrhoea. They just refuse to eat it now

I would like that Mags, I think it would be an interesting mating??? Would the kittens be blue??? If they were I know about 10 people who would like one

Ah ha! :-D

I'm no good with colour matching PK (whispers for Sam!) but I would think there would be a good chance of blue kits....

Fran
30-06-2005, 09:30 PM
Trouble is Mags, it just doesn't come down to what colour they are. With them being non pedigree with some unknown parentage the kitts really could be any colour as far as I can understand.....Until they had mated and kittens produced it would be hard to guess....

Mags

Maybe that won't be a problem PK because not many people can resist the cute little face of a kitten whatever the colour....

Moli
30-06-2005, 09:51 PM
OOh do you think there will be a Claude in them??

Mags
30-06-2005, 09:53 PM
There would be a bit of Claude and Clooney......what more could you wish for :-D

What age would Clooney need to be PK when he can be a dad?

What age would Clooney need to be PK when he can be a dad?

Well, I am sure there is a possibility from 6 months onwards but I would think it more ideal to wait until he is more mature. I need to do some homework on this. Problem is, with them not being pedigrees it is difficult getting anyone in the know to help  Perhaps I ought to stick to labradors :? Shame though as very few blue moggies around and if they were more common maybe they wouldn't be stolen as often as they are  I had one stolen a few years ago :( and one or two others went in the area including silver tabbies. I feel very passionately about increasing the blue moggie population.....

I will ask ollie's breeder, she has been breeding for years, and is very good....

Sorry its taken me a while to get here tonight, and you should know by now i will answer any question i can.I really dont mind.Thats what im here for :)
They are probably at the stage when kitten meat just aint good enough.Try them on some kind of meat that is supermeat,no jelly or gravy yet as this can sometimes upset tiny stomachs.
When and if they eat that then offer what you want to feed but introduce slowly.
I have also found over the years that there are 2 times in the year when they go off their food, now and early Autum.Somthing to do with the change in the weather.
If they wont eat any meat dont worry, providing you are giving them a good biscuit(like James Wellbeloved) they will be fine. Its only if they are getting Whiskas biscuit or similar thet you would need to worry about getting enough nutrients. These foods are cereal base and cats just cant tolerate to much cereal.
Now im feeding steamed its not a problem we have anymore. All my present babies are on this now and doing really well.
