Is it right that you have to rub olive oil into their shells to stop them cracking?

No Mags their shells do not need any special treatment as long as they receive a good diet. You have to bath tortoises a couple of times a week, but although they are supposed to really enjoy the experience, Herbi much like the kids seems allergic to water :roll:

He has his bath in a cat litter tray and warm tap water, the idea is that he is supposed to drink, wee and pooh :shock: But he spends all his time wadeing from one end to the other trying to climb out :roll:
