View Full Version : Claude growing up
Claude is really growing up!! He has been grooming himself today and bombing round the living room doing the little jumps and twists that kittens do. He has also been eyeing my curtains up  He is such a cutie!! Can't wait until the weekend when I can worm him. His stomach feels a bit 'wormy' to me

Theres nothing better then watching a kitten grow and boy do they grow fast.If you suspect worms i would personally do him now.You use the panacur liquid so just make sure you can do him.If not go get the paste as you can definatly do him with this.
He growing quickly, he certainly looks like a big boy on your avater.. :D
Claude sounds great fun now PK.....what a pity you couldn't have got the video of him for us to see :(
I reckon he'll be climbing up the backs of your legs before your curtains :-D
I decided to worm him, the panacur liquid is safe to use. He will have a three day course. He was good at taking it, don't know how he will be by day 3 when he knows what it is all about :?
Just out of interest PK.....what does a 'wormy' stomach feel like?
It's swollen and bloated, looks and like he has really bad wind waiting to explode
Cassie is like that all the time!! I worm her twice a year.....do you think I should do it more ?
His stomach feels really firm as if full of wind not soft and squidgy like normal. I worm my cats every 3 months as(1) I have children and (2) all but my eldest mouse
I do both cats and dogs every 3 months....
I'm the same Moli, my dogs are wormed every three months as well. When pregnant my dogs have been wormed every day from day 40 of pregnancy up until 2 days post whelp. Thats why I use Panacur liquid it works out a lot cheaper to buy it in bulk as I go through so much. The cats are harder to worm with liquid though, tablets are easier :?
Thanks for the info ladies......I think I'd better change to four times a year now to be on the safe side.
I have terrible trouble with cats and tablets!!
Try crushing them in some pilchards or sardines Moli.....the stronger taste disguises the tablet.
Honestly Moli, tablets are easier!!!! With the liquid the cats just toss their heads around and you wear more than they take
Do you use a dropper or syringe to give the liquid PK?
When giving my cats tablets I just wrap them in a towel so they can't get me with their claws  Open their mouths and push the tablet right to the back of their throats. Close their mouths and rub their throats. the tablets usually go down very quickly this way
............and NO scratches!
I use a syringe Mags. I can't really put medication in food with having so many, I don't know who has eaten what :? I like to know they have had it!
............and NO scratches!
:-D But you have to make sure you have them well wrapped up!
Oh, of course....I didn't think of that! It only takes one greedy one.......

PK - Have you ever tried panacur paste - It's easy peasy to administer to cats / kittens and pups. :D
I have Smudgley but to be honest my lot take tablets fine and I can manage to get the liquid down them so I don't really need the paste. The dogs can have the liquid too and so can the pups! 1 wormer sorts them all :-D
How's Claude today PK.......discovering mischief by the day I expect :-D
Oooh it's like bedlam here Mags! I still have 2 of the pups until the weekend and they think Claude is one of them, I caught one of them earlier trying to drag Claude by his tail  Trouble is he seems to really like them and keeps going back for more
 I would love to have seen that! I hope he doesn't get too attached to the pups if they are going soon :(
I know Mags, that's the downside to him being an only one :( Maud plays with him though and Maddie will certainly play with him. Although I'll be happier when he gets a little bigger as Maddie sometimes forgets that she weighs 30kg
At this rate he'll be a little toughie boots when he grows up
Well he certainly shouldn't be frightened of dogs!! Though I'm not sure whether that is a good thing or a bad one. My hubby's mum has a staffie that hates cats with a passion. My lot have learn't to get out of the way when she visits (not too often thank goodness) but will Claude??
Oh, that could be a problem.......though I think animals sense if another is friendly or not (especially if the lip curls up  )
She doesn't bring the dog as often as she did as I don't allow other dogs here whilst I have pups incase of infection. My dogs get on really well with her but she doesn't like cats and she has tried to kill my rabbits  My rabbits potter round the garden on a nice day and my dogs get on great with them but Tia (staffie) hates them. To be honest I dread her coming
Your rabbits are beautiful and have lovely markings.....I would worry about them too with a dog like that about :(
It wouldn't be so bad if I knew when she was coming but she usually just turns up and then I go into panic mode rounding all my pets up
Honestly Moli, tablets are easier!!!! With the liquid the cats just toss their heads around and you wear more than they take
I have always found with my dogs..any baby puppy or kitten, they seem to know it's a baby and are very gentle with it..Although I do know of a staffie that hates cats, and would not trust it with my lot...
