The kittens have arrived - they are beautiful, but we have now found out that there were 6 in the litter & 3 have already been homed, so we have got mom & only 3 kittens. Problem is they can't be 6 weeks old. We were told they are about 6 weeks, but I think they are 4 weeks. I know what kittens are like & I've seen lots of litters & they look & act much younger than 6 weeks, although they all look in good health (except fleas) Mom is lovely - only young, but seems happy. She was not left at the vets to be neutered as she needs to finish rearing her babies first.
mom is quite a pale tabby
2 kittens are ginger & white & other is tabby & white. all boys.

Dad arrived later - he is lovely. Big ginger & white, friendly fella. He's to be neutered tomorrow.

Hope the other 3 babies are ok.

Thats awfully young - but nothing you can do now I got my old cat Archie at 4 weeks - he was about to be "drowned" by the husband when I got there he had already drowned his three littermates :( Archie never really seemed to get over it being removed from Mom so young - mind you that may have been the bad life his Mom had led before he was born and after - as you can imagine.

Oddly enough his Mom went missing a week after I got Archie - no idea where she went  but a friend of mine had a beautiful tabby cat for the next 13 years that looked just like Archie's Mom - odd that.

Archie died aged 10 months under the wheels of a car.

I am sure you will make sure the three you have plus Mom and Dad are happy,

Yes I will try to get some pics tomorrow of the little cuties.
They all have wonderful temperaments. Dad is really lovely. Proper Tom cat, looks like he's travelled a few miles in his time. really affectionate.
Mom is a darling who loves her babies, I'm sad about the others but there's nothing at all we can do - we tried to say they need their mommy - but

Mom & Dad are named - so I will keep their names.
Dad is called Tigger & Mom is called Whiskas.

The boys I want to call them all names starting with A, like we do with all the Guide Dog pups -

smudgley
12-04-2005, 10:52 PM
I do like the idea of Tom, Dick & Harry. But if they get homed seperate I don't think anyone would want a kitten called Dick

Almost eh?

Kazz
13-04-2005, 12:21 AM
Okay

Atlas. Apollo. Astro. Ambrose. Aero. Astrix. Aragon. Aphro.

Whatever you call them doesn't really matter as long as they are loved.

Mind you you could always do the guide dog thing backwards and start with "Z" as your letter.

Zoro. Zorba. Zippo. Zippy. Ziggy. Zeus. Zeberdee. Just an idea. :-D

Moli

Fran

One of the kittens that had already been homed was not eating in her new home  so has now also been handed over to us & is back with her mommy, she's cute!
So then there were 4. :-D

Dad is fine he's so friendly - he's been netured & is back with me in his snuggly warm bed in his pen.

Great news about the little family Smudgley! Have you decided on the names yet?

Looking forward to the pics......sorry we are soooo impatient :-D

Kazz
14-04-2005, 12:26 PM
Mags don't apologise for being impatient - what we should be saying is HURRY UP

I hope the other two who went are eating okay - but how sensible of the person who took the kitten to realise she was still a baby and needed to be back with Mom - Thats good ownership :-D isn't it to realise the error and then make steps to correct it.

Are the taking the kitten back when she older - sorry to go on but thats a big + in my book.

So come on with the pictures - PLEASE

Mags

smudgley
19-04-2005, 08:10 AM
I doubt if we'll ever hear any more of the other 2, I can only presume they are doing ok.
Kittens won't go until 9 weeks - once vaccinated so no homes lined up yet. I guess in a few weeks potential owners will be able to come and view them.
I really love dad - I must get a photo on here of him. He's so friendly & loves cuddles 8)

Mags
19-04-2005, 08:48 AM
