My neighbours have all kinds of animals. Dogs which are in a field all day , they get no human company..they are possesions not pets..One has a buster collar on, I assume she has been spayed.Today i met their latest edition, a beautiful siamese cross, he is a real beauty with the biggest blue eye's I have ever seen..He is very thin and kept clawing at his ears.....I think he may have mites..They won't care, I just cannot stand people like this. She reckons my animals are spoilt!!!!Arrrrgggg!!!!!

I just cannot understand why people want animals if they are not prepared to look after them properly......what do they get out of them?

If you have a pet that is cared for and loved, it gives you so much in return........I'm afraid your neighbours just don't know what they are missing Moli.

They just do not seem to care Mags...

It must be very hard for you seeing them 'treated' like that.

Thats the problem, I try not to take any notice of them..but you can't help it when the cat comes up to you for a cuddle..I really do not want to encourage it, my dogs would chase it.I was really tempted to put some cleaner in its ears and give them a good clean, but I didn't...

It would break my heart if I was in that situation Moli. I would definitely clean it's ears, flea it etc. I would be tempted to worm it as well

You sound like me Moli....a soft touch where animals are concerned!

If you give it cuddles I'm sure your neighbours won't be seeing a lot of their cat!!

That the problem Mags..I don't think my lot would be too pleased if a strange cat started to visit.....

That's maddening. Poor little thing it only wants to be loved and cared for, it doesn't take much

Moli

Some people just see pets as pets and not part of the family - it must be very hard for you seeing this day in and out - it would really upset me too!

I'd clean his ears at least then he'd be comfortable. I bet he's got sense too and will keep clear of your dogs.

They have dogs too..I hope he realises mine will chase him..but if he stood his ground my lot would run the other way. I have the 3 cats too, don't know what they would do.If I get the chance I will clean his ears....

Cats aren't daft. Is he an "adult" cat if so he will know his way around.

Moli

Luke I dont know the answer to that one. What I will say is when I was visiting Moli, her neighbours have got a rescue sharpi (sp) who they intend to breed from. Now that in its self is against all the rules, anyway she had a sore nose and was just wandering about. From what I know, they probably haven't treated that either.

Our new kitten has dirt in his ears and i'm terrified that people will think he has ear mites. But the vet say's its dirt and has given me some stuff to squirt in his ears he hates it but smells lovely when he's he had it done! We also end up wearing it when he shakes it all back out!

When yhou have done that do you then clean them with a bit of cotton wool?

No the vet said not to do that - that this solution will loosen it and bring it out - it is improving but still pretty dirty. He goes back for his second injection in two weeks, so his ears will be checked again then.

Thats strange, Ive always been told to clean them with a lump of cotton wool after using ear cleaner in both the cats and dogs. It stops your walls ect wearing the yuk LOL
