View Full Version : Poem to my cats

Kazz
17-03-2005, 10:34 PM
My two cats are getting on now they are both in their 20's Oscar and Cleo and today I sat and wrote this for them as I can't think where the years have gone.

I remember the first day you came you could fit in my hand

I remember the first time you hunted for mice in preference to canned

I remember the days you tried to remain aloof

I remember the days when you got stuck on the roof

I remember the nights you purred me to sleep

I remember the days you played with my feet

I remember our “talks” as we sat in the sun

I remember our days as you stalked me for fun

I remember the times you pretended to hide

I remember the times you sat by my side

I remember the times your "food" tried run

I remember the days with a mouse on the run

I remember your call

I’ll remember it all

Dedicated to cats and their people everywhere

And I must say I rarely write poems the last was for my dog Gyp - who we lost younger than we should have due to illness.

Fran
17-03-2005, 11:23 PM

Mags
17-03-2005, 11:28 PM

Kazz
17-03-2005, 11:31 PM
I have no talent.

I will try to recall the doggie one.

Mags

Kazz
17-03-2005, 11:34 PM
Got it

You are only a room away
But I cannot find the door
You are only a whistle away
But I cannot whistle loud enough
You are only a dream away
But I cannot sleep yet
You are only a turn away
But I cannot turn fast enough
You are only a heart beat away
And in my heart you’ll always stay

Fran
17-03-2005, 11:34 PM

Kazz
17-03-2005, 11:42 PM
You can have this one if you like

You came in the spring
You grew in the summer
You captured my heart
Like there was no other
You caught sunlight and stars
You barked in the moonlight
You returned our love
You became our life
You grew old in the autumn
In the winter you left.

Gypsy my daffodil dog.

They call me now
They call me in
But I want to stay out

[QUOTE="Kazz"]The black and white cat
Walks through the streets
She didn't know where she was going
Along the way a dog she meets
While a gale force wind was blowing!

I will pop on sooner rather than later and one to go with

The night is young
My eyes are old
The clock is ticking
My cocoa is cold

I go to bed,
Switch off the light,
My prayers are said,
Hope bed bugs don't bite!

Here you go Mags...

There once was a dog name of Dot
She had a big spot on her bot
She tried everyday to wash it away
But just got herself tied in knots!
