I usually get worm tablets for Cassie from the Vet, but this time I thought I would try the BM granules from the pet shop. I mixed them with her food as directed and she ate the lot. When I got up the next morning she had been sick in six or seven places on the lounge carpet and in the kitchen. Also she wouldn't eat anything the following day.
I've never had any problems like this with the vets tablets and only gave her this as part of her regular worming programme as she is not the easiest of cats to give tablets to.

Just wondered if anyone else has had the same experience with these granules?

Yes thanks Abbi, Cassie is fine now. Thats what happens for trying the easy way out! I usually get the Drontal tablet from the vet as well and as she is such hard work to get a tablet down her, I have to ask the vet to give it to her. I'm ashamed to say she bit him once! :( Oh well, it's back to the vet again next time!

My last cat was on tablets twice a day for almost all his life and he was so used to taking them that he used to sit there and almost open his mouth ready for them!! He had a hormonal problem and used to lose patches of fur .....also he never had any fur on his underside - must have been cold in winter for him, aah!

We gave Cheetah Panacure liquid last time and she was actually good as gold! (I was expecting a big fight!).

Wonder if you are allowed t crush the tablet and mix it in the food? might be easier?

Maybe the granuales were too strong thats why she brought them up?

Give her a *hug* from me :-)

Never heard of that Panacure liquid Azz, did you get it from the vet? Did you mix it with her food or give it to her with a syringe?

She was sick again in the night so it was another cleaning up job this morning. She is always catching and eating insects in the garden so that could have been the cause this time. Anyone would think we didn't feed her

we got it from the vets and yeah we have to use a syringe (which makes it much easier!).

maybe shes got a tummy bug?

Maybe this is a silly question but is it necessary to worm an indoor cat? :?

Azz

My 2 are awful with tablets! I have found the Pancur paste easiest (with them wrapped in a towel, i am afraid). They will not eat granules in food, tablets have to be given by 2 vet nurses! Nightmare!

Panacur liquid is a liquid wormer that is given in a syringe.

Panacur paste is already in a syringe & is a bit like thin toothpaste :? & you just put the marker on the dose you want & pop it in.

Both are just as effective - but the paste is easier to administer.

Panacur also to an edible tablet, they guarantee your money back if the cat won't eat it.

They are called Panacur favourites

I tried the liquid and ended up wearing most of it! The paste seems to be harder for the cats to spit out!:D
