Hi everyone, I thought I'd share this with you all as it's quite a strange relationships one of my dogs & one of my cats have with each other.
We have a flat coated retriever & a few months ago we got a new 6 week old fluffy kitten. After a couple of days, I noticed she was suckling from the dog, :shock: , she was actually having a good old suckle on a teat. She was getting great comfort from it & the dog seemed happy & gave her a little wash, well this happened every day, several times a day.We have tried to discourage her, but she carries on...............................We are now 5 months on & Smudge still suckles her "mommy" every day & enjoys having her daily top and tail from her mom. :)
