We had Harvey to the vet this week. The vet thinks he may have nasal cancer. It is only five weeks from we lost Katie & now this bombshell. He isnt 8 until next week. I just feel my heart is breaking all over again. We are still so hurt & upset with losing Katie
Please pray for our big boy x

What shocking news for you Velvet.I will be praying for Harvey every day. Let us hope that the news isn't as bad as it seems and that Harvey makes a full recovery. I'm thinking of you both.

Vet has measured it & weve to go back end of next week fasting & if its grown, he will biopsy it first. My own feeling is - get rid, but have to go with vets advice. Vet would prefer not to remove if possible, as where it is there is a lot of cartilage ie it would disfigure Harvey. That wouldnt worry us so long as hes ok. Vet says the problem is, we dont know how deep it is. Its all very upsetting & worrying.

Harvey himself is a bit off his food, that could be due to upset over Katie, not having competition for food or because he doesn't feel well.

They think it may have been a Spider bite. They have that typed in their report. There was me thinking spiders were harmless creatures all these years!

Having problems getting our boy to eat. He has little to no interest in food, plays with it round his dish & a lot goes on the floor. This was a dog that hoovered crumbs off the floor.

Hes not ill thnk hes just had the heart knocked out of him with no other dogs here, no competition for a start. We try to take him out as much as we can with us but there are times we can't. Starting to think maybe we should get another dog for company for him.

That sounds like a great idea some dogs are simply mean to be with another..............

I know Kazz we just couldn't face the thought of it but the cloud of shock at losing Katie has cleared a bit. Vet thinks its easier for an adult dog to accept a pup coming into its home so will see - will make a few enquiries

Poor chap, perhaps another dog would be the answer to a lot, especially if it was a rescue dog. Do you think a puppy might be a bit much or maybe give him a new lease of life?
