Are cats like dogs where they are recommended to be spayed once they are fully matured? or at what age do you think it would be safe to neuter?

Well ............ depends on your vet, some neuter at 4 months but the vet I take mine to says 6 months, or at least large enough for the vet to be able to find the little tubes. I certainly wouldn't leave beyond 6 months.

I would say 6 months. Will give him chance to mature a bit but I wouldn't leave it longer cos if toms start spraying it's hard to stop them and they are smelly!!!

Oh to answer your question in more detail, 6 months used to be the standard, but as cats can be fertile from 4 months the recommendation has changed to earlier.
Imo kittens shouldn't be going out before 6 months, if at all, so is only really important to do before 6 months if mixed sexes are living together and aren't neutered
