We've put in the corner for now but will move it around as and when we get the bins.

Introducing Maggie May ( cuckoo maran ) and Roxanne (rhondda ranger ) out 12 week old hens. Not yet point of lay but will grow and get used to our coop and become part of our family before they start laying.

Thanks ladies :) it was difficult to choose. There were lots of light sussex hens at point of lay, however these two were pecking away by our feet and were fine being handled and seemed to want to be with us. Ceri said he definitely wanted the Maran and I liked the look of the Ranger. We could have had another called a Rhondda Blue, a slate grey hen but we only have room for 2 :( My daughter now wants hens too but she doesn't have room, I can see her buying her own coop and putting it alongside

They look great PP. I love the eggs Marans lay, some of ours are Marans. Isn't it odd that Americans won't eat brown eggs.

Wow, what a lovely hen house. Your two hens are indeed lucky. I do hope Ceri enjoys having birds again.
