Meet Philo, 6 months old and already had 3 homes:( . Not vaccinated and called aggressive. Have met him twice now and don't see anything that remotely looks like aggression. Think he's just been tormented by young children. He's very submissive and a little unsure. Best of all, Rayne isn't bothered by him.

Philo is fab. What a lovely little chap. how can he be judged aggressive at that age, he's a puppy. People make me so cross, they have to blame the dog because of their ignorance. I do hope you keep him Elaine, especially if he has been passed around from pillar to post already. Poor little man won't know if he's coming or going. More pics please!!

That was exactly what I said Fecto. Apparently he is food aggressive, child aggressive and in desperate need of neutering, was what I was told. HE'S A PUPPY is what my head screamed:lol: .
My train of thought is, if he had an aggressive bone in his body, which he hasn't, Rayne would not like him one bit and would want to kill him. The fact that she is barely interested in him tells me he's ok. Now that doesn't mean that once he is a bit more secure and settled that little terrierisms wont come into play but I am sure he'll be just fine. I also feel he will be easily trained as he looks for guidance all the time bless him.
Just got to get past Graham and he is sulking right now:lol:

Thank you Angie, I think he would slot in here nicely and it might actually do Rayne some good to have a wee pal about the place.

I saw this wee guys story, a complete mess, poor little soul.
Glad you have him, I'm sure some guidance, stimulation and exercise will make a huge difference to his life.
I was wondering who he had gone to.

Just people wanting puppies and not having a damned clue Farthing. Surrounded by screaming kids, every one getting stressed and blaming the puppy. He's really sweet, nice natured and not a nasty bone in his body. He starts puppy agility on Wednesday.;)

Congratulations Elaine. Philo is a beautiful young pup and with a bit of security and understanding in his life, will grow into a magnificent dog.Poor wee guy, with so many homes already in his short life. No wonder he's confused. I do hope you keep him. I know I wouldn't be able to give him up.

Philo has wriggled into your heart and you're a lost cause Elaine :-D He needs someone like you to show him real human/doggie interaction after the confusing start he's had to his puppy life. Thank you for caring and becoming his forever friend. x

Think you are meant to have Philo, Elaine. Animals that choose us are always the best.

When I got Chubbiz from Cats Protection I had gone to see his brother and sister. His brother, Sid, was described as very reserved so I was having him straight away because he would have been difficult to home. As I was deciding about his sister the little black chap was crawling up my leg and I found him in my arms and was stroking him. As we shut the door to the pen he was hung on the netting, how could I refuse!! He was the most intelligent cat I have ever had and he was determined I was to be his Mum. Don't know who Graham is, presumably your OH. Tell him to stop sulking and give a good home to little Philo!

I agree he has found a good home.

I think the idea is he guides Rayne away from disaster not joins her in it. LOL

Where did you get him from Elaine? I am wondering what he has in his gene makeup? Not that it matters really but interesting.

It's a bit of a long tale Kazz. There is this horrid page on FB that many post cheap or free animals on, a bit like gumtree. As you can all imagine, I have locked heads a few times and try not to look on there too often. I saw this pups face appear a few times. I saw some one I kinda know offer to take him and she did so, but she was not ideal either and made a big song and dance about him being aggressive etc. My agility instructor contacted her to offer some help in order for the pup not to be pushed to yet another home. She then sent me a txt after she had met him and said that if it didn't work out there, he would be the ideal little dog match for Rayne. As she finished telling me this, the girl txt her and said she couldn't keep him so my agility instructor said she would foster him and then asked me to meet her at the beach and to take Rayne, we met again yesterday at her field and we will meet again tomorrow at my field with her dogs there too. I asked if he could meet Rayne in a variety of settings in order to make sure that she's not going to kill him lol. He is booked into the vets next week and is registered under my name, I need to sort out the flat a little and make a bit of quiet space in my bedroom for his crate. I will be having as much interaction with him as I can, and Rayne too, so that it's not going to be too scarey for him to come home with me.

See I cannot look on sites like that in fact pet shop windows scare me - soft eh. Sounds like he has landed on his feet even if Rayne is not keen then hopefuly
you and your trainer can sort him a good home thats
suitable for him.

Sometimes you really need to wonder what if anything goes through peoples heads.........

It's all looking really promising, Rayne is offering passive signals of avoidance rather than confrontation. Graham on the other hand doesn't discuss anything that I'd like he just tries to lay down the law and forgets that this is my house and that he pays nothing for the animals and is never burdened with them. He is just going to have to suck this one up because Philo will be coming home.

Hurrah, Elaine. Good for you, I'm so pleased Philo is home with you. Poor little chap, he will be so glad to have a proper routine and some peace and quiet. I have always believed that children and animals don't mix unless they are properly supervised. I am not surprised that most dog rescues don't rehome dogs to homes with young children.

Philo got told off by Rayne today for being too much in her face, he squealed but took the telling which is good. He now knows his name and he's a wee poppet.

I've spent half my life telling people NOT TO BUY FROM PET SHOPS. Where did Bella (my minpin) come from? Yeah a local new petshop. My daughter dragged me there to see these 2 minpins in a tiny cage. She was the one being bullied and bitten by the bigger boy minpin. Half an hour later and quite a few hundred quid lighter - she was home with me. In less thane 24 hrs she was in the vets for 4days on death's doorstep - (PROOF YOU SHOULDN'T BUY FROM PETSHOPS!) half dead - vet bills cost me more than the dog did. But she was by then MINE. So I consider that I rescued her because she sure as hell was going to just be returned to the breeder and killed (won't say put down coz they wouldn't go to the expense of that here) neck wrung probably.

It's all looking really promising, Rayne is offering passive signals of avoidance rather than confrontation. Graham on the other hand doesn't discuss anything that I'd like he just tries to lay down the law and forgets that this is my house and that he pays nothing for the animals and is never burdened with them. EXACTLY what the terrorist minpin is doing since the cat arrived on the scene. AVOIDING her.

Bless you for taking this dog. They can see the invisible tattoo people like us have on our foreheads that spells out the word M U G lol!
