That reminds me, I must plant my catnip seeds! My two love it, especially Pip and he likes to eat the fresh leaves from my hands. I've just got rid of dry old stalks from the greenhouse and he seemed to enjoy rubbing on those too, so the scent must linger a very long time. Might try planting some seed outdoors this year. I know it's a perennial but as I've tried to contain it in the past in a hanging planter in the greenhouse, it hasn't survived the winter. I remember Eileen finding "volunteers" (seedlings) for the following year.

Two beautiful cats Velvet.Timmy looks as if he's enjoying himself. Jac looks to be in blissful slumber. I must try catnip on my guys.

Looks like Jac is completely zonked there and Timmy is starting to rev up!!. We grow catnip outside for our cats. When it goes stalky I take the stalks and leaves inside and dry them then make little filled toys with it. I put the stuffing and the dried catnip in a zipped washbag together. Our cats aren't that interested in the toys but I make them for other people. I made about 50 and gave them to The Ark in Ashbourne for them to either sell or give to the cats their. Angie, it does die back quite a lot in winter but comes again in spring.

I'm sure it does outside FM - but mine being in the greenhouse over-winter and unwatered were completely dead!

lovely pictures, Helen.
I grow it outside too and the poor plant is struggling to come back but as soon as any leaves show, the neighbours cat comes, climbs into the pot and squashes it,lol

I must admit I cannot take credit for anything we grow, my OH does it all. I am allowed to dead head and weed under supervision! Although I did grow some fab sweet peas for when he came out of hospital a couple of years ago. I like to talk to plants, bonkers I know but works for me! Who am I to say they don't understand.
