I have come across a wee cat wandering about our street quite recently, no idea where he ( i say he because im not sure of gender) has come from. He is a wee grey striped tabby who is really friendly and will come over to me when i call him. He is quite nervous though and jumps if you move suddenly. I have called him Oscar. His tail is like a pigs tail the way it curls and it sits flat on his back most of the time. He decided to come and visit OH today. OH heard a scratching at our livingroom window and it wasnt our 2, so when he looked, it was Oscar sitting on the window sill looking in!! Harris was looking out of the window and OH has said that he didnt growl or hiss at Oscar being at the window. OH gave him a treat stick through the window when he was giving our 2 1 aswell and wee Oscar seemed to enjoy it. He also managed to get a photo of him so i will post it when i get home tonight. I dont think he is very old, possibly maximum of about a year i think

Can you get him to a vet to see if he's / shes microchipped?

Put posters through local doors, shops & vets asking does anyone know him/her. If female & not spayed....

Awww you have captured my heart calling him Oscar....however you never know with cats especially youngsters they seem some of them to want to follow anyone (no disrespect) they just don't seem to have filters on their brain sayin "family!" not family......hope he has got a home or you will be more than a few treat sticks out ;)

I haven't seen him this morning yet when I've been out. hoping hes tucked up nice and warm in a his home. Saw him last night about 1030pm running about after something. Velvet, OH isnt keen on taking h7m to the vet to see if he is chipped incase his owners stay round here and think we are taking him but I totally see your point. He looks healthy enough so I'm sure he will have a home somewhere (I hope) I will just keep giving him wee treats though when I see him.

Oscar sounds sweet, no wonder you have half adopted him!

Could you put a collar on him with your phone number on it and see if someone calls you? I know that's what the RSPCA do when they aren't sure if a cat is a stray.

Now that's a very good idea.....I did something similar when my Oscar was older and he was very thin from Chronic Renal Failure - I put a collar on saying "I am 21 years old and poorly with kidney disease please ring my owner and not feed me" along with my number two people rang me. Worked well.

finally managed to get the photo of Oscar uploaded!! We got up this morning to him looking all cosy and tucked up on our livingroom window sill!! We had heard tapping before we went to bed but didn't think anything of it. Now beginning to wonder if it was Oscar!

Uh-oh. One thing leads to another and you'll find yourselves with one more feline on your hands ;)

He does look like a lovely young 'un. Very hard but I would not tempt him at all by giving treats or affection. He looks in good condition, nice clean coat and eyes so is probably someone's youngster finding out about his neighbourhood.

He's a looker alright, ;) can see why he pulls on your heartstrings, but I agree he's probably someone's puss.
If he persists then maybe a scan for a chip, some dog wardens can do this in case getting him to a vet is awkward and stressful, maybe they can call up when he's in the area?

im going to just keep keeping an eye on him until i go on holiday and see how regularly he is about. If he is still there when i get back from my holiday i will try get him scanned for a chip and if hes chipped will get in touch with his owner.

Glad to hear you've found out where he belongs! He looked too good to be a stray really.

Ah, that's good, now he can visit and you'll feel better knowing he's just being neighbourly, not in need :)

Ah ha he is just being friendly and visiting not checking you out in the lodging field.

He does look a stunner though - glad he has a home.
