A friends cat has been diagnosed with Spondylosis....along with the standard vet meds they have been given for the cat is there anything else they could/should do to help with this condition...the cat's around 16 years of age and female and has been fed on a dry cat food all her life...should they change to a wet food...any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks x

Poor kitty, sadly it is an age related issue with no cure, all your friend can really do is make her cat as comfortable as possible with the use of anti-inflamatories and or pain meds. The only other thing I can think of that may help would be the likes of acupuncture or maybe even reiki.
Cases of spondylosis are more often found in female cats and a high intake of vitamin A can be a cause, usually when a cat is fed liver. I wouldnt have thought at this stage that diet will make any difference to be honest.

Our Pudding has spondylosis, she gets acupuncture and it has helped tremendously, there is even an increase of muscle along her spine and she can jump onto the window sill again.
