That's lovely! Can't get video to work on office pc so had to wait to see it on iPad. Tink, you must be beside yourself with joy, cherish the pregnancy and your little girl when she arrives.

Time flies too fast and before you know it they're at school

Thanks, ladies. We have thought of a few names but aren't really getting sure of anything until we find out the gender.

I am 16.5 weeks now. Will be having anatomy scan and should find out gender (if baby cooperates) on February 13th...
I soooo cannot wait. I bought some gender neutral baby clothing but really ready to go all out once we know if we've got a boy or girl! :D
We were both so sure that our guts were telling us girl but now I am having doubts and could see it being a boy too, lol. Either way we'll be happy. I will be kind of shocked if it's a boy though, haha. As long as wee one is healthy, we are already head over heels for this child.
Starting to buy some odds and ends. I have got quite the bump now. I know not a lot of women show until later with their first child but not me, I'm huge! Maybe because I have a very short torso there is nowhere to go but out but the belly is in full effect. I'll have to put up a bump pic soon so you guys can see what I mean :D
I am feeling alot better in second trimester now. Only thing is I have to limit my physical activity or I get horrible sciatica (baby is probably pressing on the nerve. i also have moderate scoliosis which i was warned would cause me discomfort in pregnancy and labor). Other than that though, I feel great!
Our crib arrived today with matching changing table. Had to order it, they were having a sale that was just too good to pass up.
Is it Feb. 13th yet? I want to see my baby again! I wonder how much she/he has grown since last scan...

I'd love to see a picture of your bump Tink . . . it makes me feel all emotional. My 2 are 6 and 9 now (years not months) and their babyhood went all too fast :(

The buying of the bits and pieces of baby stuff is such fun, the most exciting thing I found was buying the pram (stroller). It was as much the thought of me finally pushing it rather than the pram itself though.

And, yep Alex, only one in there  I've had that question before. I guess my body just does this pregnancy thing with gusto, lol!!
I've been told it's because I'm short and have a short torso but I don't know, lol.
Me and hubs ran an errand last night and came across a baby store and ended up buying a little fuzzy yellow and white giraffe sleeper and found a deal for a 5 pack of onesies for $15..couldn't resist:-D

I am really hoping I make it till then! As uncomfortable as I may be, I want her to have the full benefit of being a full term baby. I'm not going to have them induce me unless it's medically necessary. I want her to come in her own time.;)

She's measuring normal to the very day so I'm thinking it'll be okay. The size of the bump can vary with Mom's stomach muscle tone (i had none, lol), how the baby is laying, size of Mom's torso, and where the placenta is in the uterus so it may be misleading.

alexgirl73
24-02-2013, 11:01 PM
Oh definitely no inducing unless you have to be done for medical reasons :) Babies come out when they are cooked properly, and in their own sweet time lol.

Hi, ladies...
Nearly 28 weeks now. Had my checkup the other day and baby seems great (active, great heart rate) but the OB is sending me for an u/s next week to double check things as my fundal height is quite ahead. Need to know if it's only a big baby or if there is excess amniotic fluid and, if so, then why. Please keep fingers crossed we just have a big, healthy girl on our hands and nothing too serious.

Then yesterday I found out my dad was in a very severe car wreck which resulted in brain trauma and possible spinal cord injury (definitely a burst fracture). They helicoptered him for emergency surgery to save his life and he is stable at the moment but honestly there are so many factors up in the air about permanent brain damage or paralysis and we don't know much yet. I am just gutted. I know I need to take care of myself for the baby's sake and I am trying. Hubby is being good reminding me to eat and such it's just hard not to stress and even if he does make it they say it will be weeks of hospitilization followed by months of hard work in rehab for recovery. My dad was so excited to meet his grandchild come July and also get to see me and my pregnant belly next month at the shower. Me and hubby are waiting for more info from my mom about when it would be best to visit (a few hour car trip) as she wants me to stay home and be comfortable and at this time there's really nothing i could do but sit in the lobby. Lots of family is calling me asking me for updates. I just want it all to go away. Anyway, if you could spare a prayer or thought for him too that would be great.

Kazz
19-04-2013, 11:30 PM
I will say a prayer for your Dad. And I have to say I think I also think a nice sized baby too no issues at all I will start the guess the baby weight
My guess 7lb3.

Tink
20-04-2013, 03:56 AM
Thank you, Kazz. A running baby weight poll sounds fun and distracting :)

angieh
20-04-2013, 03:36 PM
So sorry to hear about your Dad, Tink. Your family are in my thoughts and I'm sending strong, calm vibes to you all.

What a brill idea re a baby weight poll ....... my OH weighed over 10lbs, so fingers crossed you have a big strong girl.

alexgirl73
20-04-2013, 05:38 PM
Sending prayers for your dad Tink, I'm sure the thought of meeting his granddaughter will keep him going and give him an incentive to recover as quickly as possible.

And as for weight, I'm going with 7lb 6 :)

Tink
20-04-2013, 09:56 PM
Thank you ladies for your thoughts. I'm gonna guess 8lbs10oz (my birth weight! haha)

Dad is off the ventilator and breathing on his own and having periods of awareness (eyes open). However, no signs of recognition or response to voice commands. I'm hoping his brain just needs more time and he will show response soon.

On a lighter note, Baby Eva was kicking the life out of me the last few weeks but now she has discovered her HANDS and is punching me nice and low...haha.
Oh. And the last two weeks I've somehow become gigantic. Eek! How is this belly gonna grow for 12 more weeks, I don't know. I feel I may explode

alexgirl73
20-04-2013, 11:31 PM
That's positive news about your dad :) Hopefully he will come on leaps and bounds now.

Eva sounds as if she is going to be a handful and is just getting you ready early ;) x

Fancy, your little one's adorable...xoxo

Hey, ladies. Just wanted to let you know Dad has been making little baby steps. He has moments of being coherent and talking and can wiggle his fingers and toes now. Actually was able to give my Mom a kiss today which she is over the moon about. I plan on visiting him this weekend.

Me, my body is aching so badly. I don't know how my back is going to handle me getting any bigger..argh. This seems to happen to me though. Feel really bad for a few days then I adjust and I feel better. Maybe these are little growth spurts?

Two more sleeps till we get to see the baby on u/s again....

Great news about your dad Tink, keeping him in my prayers xx

Tink
25-04-2013, 09:34 PM
Hey, ladies. The tech wasn't extremely talkative but she did tell me a few things. Baby is measuring a little bit ahead and my amniotic fluid is a little more than usual. So the combination is probably what did it with the fundal height situation. She thinks most likely they'll just monitor here and there. Definitely still a girl, head down, measuring approx. 3lbs. 7 oz., and was sucking on her umbilical cord, LOL!! she took a few 3D pix:

http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n567/tinxphotos/901df85f-d458-4be5-bfd8-4c929fb9e7ab_zpse010c302.jpg (http://s1140.photobucket.com/user/tinxphotos/media/901df85f-d458-4be5-bfd8-4c929fb9e7ab_zpse010c302.jpg.html)

http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n567/tinxphotos/b61fee09-8b29-46f7-9997-927075880d08_zps5c21422b.jpg (http://s1140.photobucket.com/user/tinxphotos/media/b61fee09-8b29-46f7-9997-927075880d08_zps5c21422b.jpg.html)

Dad's coherency comes and goes. He'll be hospitalized at least for a few months as he needs specialized brain rehab. They said he could potentially be in rehab for two years but for now he has to stay where he is because it's the only hospital in the state that does such specialized treatment for brain injuries.. I'm going to visit him on Sunday.
