wow Emma, that is looking great, but what a lot of work :D Will be well worth it I'm sure.
Wow! what a transformation, Emma :D The finished house looks lovely, you must be very pleased with all that extra space.
Looks like you're going to have weeks and weeks of decorating ahead of you ;):D

Thanks Alex and Mags, we now have three bedrooms, office, living room, lounge, kitchen dinning room, cloakroom, ensuite and bathroom.
A bit of a leap from a two bedroomed home with a kitchen, dining and living room.
The cats have settled back in really well which I am pleased about.
Did the upheavel upset Arthur and Bronwyn at all, Emma? I expect they thought they were moving into another new home when you returned .....I'm sure they remember your garden though:)
What a difference......Looks really nice, loads of room..........

It's looking really good Emma - I love your new kitchen, we have the same door and cupboard handles as you, and the heated radiator in your lovely new bathroom is ours too by the look of it! Isn't it wonderful having all that extra room?

Mags, we rented locally for three months whilst the build was completed and Arthur and Bronwyn settled into the rental really well. It was very funny watching them when we moved back as they seemed to know it was still their home (although only three of the original rooms remained (although all three were altered someway)
Arthur systematically went onto one room after another downstairs and then did the same upstairs, tail in the air, seemed to approve and then settled on the sofa...lol
I'm pleased it all met with Arthur's approval!

Angie, yes it is great having all of the extra room, although I keep losing hubby..lol
Kitchen is taking a bit of getting used to as I now have 27 cupboards to fill. We will have a black sparkle composite work top and oak flooring (the oak flooring cannot be laid for another 2 months as we had a new damp proof course laid, and it takes 3 months for the floor to completely dry) also 2 wine coolers still need to be ordered and fitted in the kitchen.

I'm pleased it all met with Arthur's approval!
I so wished I had got him on video....such a strange cat sometimes...lol ;)
Wow wow and wow Emma that is such a dramatic change. Wow..........fantastic....I think the word I am seaching for is ..........Wow.
What a fantastic transformation! It looks to have pretty well doubled in size. You're going to have the most brilliant fun decorating and styling the interiors :D I envy you the folding doors to the garden . . . if ever we get around to re-styling the kitchen and utility room I'm going to have some of those; grade 2 listing or not!!!
Any more changes Emma. Have to say it is looking superb.

Fancyabrew, no we lived in rented for three months whilst most of the work was completed. I will post up some more pictures soon.

That is a beautiful light fitting Emma. I love your stairs.
I have often considered having the wall between the kitchen diner bit and hallway removed a few people have done it around here and it always looks from good to brilliant depending on that they have done, but it means the stairs and hall are all one with no door in between.

Thanks Kazz,
Another pic of the light....the doors still have a protective film over the glass and we will remove this once the floor is laid.

The stairs will be oiled (spindles) and the top rail we will wax.
It is nice having an open dining/kitchen

took about 15 months but we only had my best mate doing the building work, had a plumber doing the CH (quite complicated big thermal store, underfloor heating 3 seperate heating zones, oil boiler and a log burner with a back boiler) Also had a couple of sparkies as it was a total rewire.
Just got to build an extention now which will be 3 or 4 years away as we could do with 1 more bedroom (its 3 bed now) and a seperate lounge (currently kitchen/dinner/lounge)

yep all our own design, but to be honest it wasn't difficult as the house is very narrow so lent itself to how we designed it. Upstairs there is 3 bedrooms (1 ensuite nice big walk in shower) and a large bathroom (spa bath another large walk in shower)
