Fifi is becoming a new cat! Her blood pressure meds are working wonders, she's alert, has clear eyes, is extremely friendly . . . and . . . she is sleeping on the bed with us. This is something she's not done for many, many years.

She prefers her blanket for during the day, but having moved her from the hallway into the kitchen she's completely stopped her howling. Also, the 'tumour' which was on her paw has competely cleared up. I'm am so baffled by this turnaround as I really didn't think she'd see in 2012 as she was so downcast and unwell. Baffled but delighted!

I will get her thyroid levels tested when we go back in about a month's time for more meds but at the moment my old girlie is back to her old self :D

PS. I like your new avatar!

It's the one I use for all my business profiles . . . so heavily re-touched you can't see my double-chins or puffy eyes ;)

Just something I've wondered about .... how does a vet take a cat's blood pressure?

Don't know, because he too her 'out back' so a nurse could hold her. But they shaved her paw and I guess placed some kind of sock device with a sensor similar to our arm cuffs on her paw . . . maybe someone more medically-inclined can shed some light?

Here's an interesting video of how your cat's blood pressure is taken.

I can't see Cassie being as well behaved as this cat!;)

That's amazing - thanks so much for finding that video Mags! I can't imagine my Kizzy being as laid back as that cat either, but Pip might be!

I suppose I knew it had to be done almost in the same way as with humans but couldn't believe that a cat would be so co-operative!
