Morning everyone.
Cold and sunny (ish) here. Just about to take the dogs out and then not sure what to do next.
Sounds like your Schnauzer walk went well Angie.
Karen you mentioned Staffie walks and leads, quite a few Basenjis don't like other Basenjis so if we did a breed walk it would no doubt be mostly on lead ;)

Morning Shelley - bright and chilly here this morning. I think I'm starting a cold, sore throat etc. Just waiting for my breakfast to go down and then I shall take some Echinacea. Got loads of urgent transcription this week, it's sods law again.

Laundry on, OH is out with Monty. The Schnauzers generally get on well together, depending on whether they've been sufficiently socialised early with other dogs ... most were off lead yesterday apart from one who is a Many Tears rescue girl and still a little scared, although she did very well and is improving every time we see her and a couple of other Minis who IMO would be fine off lead but who have anxious owners! It's a shame Basenjis don't care for others of their kind ..... hasn't the breed retained the pack instinct?

Eileen is not far from my thoughts and I am wondering whether she is still with us or with the angels ...... I'd also really like to know that Leia is OK.

Take care peeps ...... have a good day.

Morning all.

Lovely day here the wind has died down, bit damp out with intermitten rain. Off out about 4 catching up with my friend who has just come back from Egypt, going to a new Frankie and Benny's. Got a few bits to do transfer some money and things check on a few bits - ie gte out of that Christmas mood and return to reality - luckily I like reality ;)

Mom's got a hospital appoinment tomorrow her eating is worse again back to fluids and mush. :( so hopefuly a little help without a life threatening op being the only answer.

Shelley it is nice isn't it having "the family" return. I have to tell you found a new author but have hidden the books from myself will let you know when I get back from hols end Feb. Taking Sal out shortly - trying to get back into night mode at work tomorrow till Friday night.

Angie pleased your walk went well did your std and giant turn up and is there much difference in the characters of the 3 sizes? Did you get some pictures? Yours are one of only a handful of breeds I think that have succesfully "achieved" size difference with quality. Have you thought on another dog at all?

Anyhow morning to you all off out shortly Eileen of course in my thoughts but thats kinda normal especially when I see a squirrel on our walks, or even a bottle of alcohol in the shops ;)

awwww very nice Karen, that brought a lump to my throat.
I feel aprehensive when i switch my pc on at the moment.
I'l look foward to hearing about the new author, are you enjoying call the midwife, i've watched last weeks and enjoyed it, it seemed to remain true to the book.
Angie, i think probably a lot of Basenjis are ok off lead, i know Kwame and Malaika are. It seems that nearly everyone with Basenjis show so the dogs are only meeting others in that situation, they don't seem to have any other events, sadly

Morning! Quick flying visit inbetween work things. I'm aching a treat today as have been allotmenting over the weekend. All my seeds are here just waiting for warmer weather to start sowing in the greenhouse (no heater in there). Pilates tomorrow evening should sort out any residual aches tho . . . I feel so energised each time I do a lesson.

I have a sore throat too - not good as both times I've had one so far this winter, I've ended up loosing my voice. Am dosing daily on Beroca which seems to be keeping the worst of it at bay.

Apart from that all as usual here . . . I too was thinking about Leia :( , I'm sure Carolyn will make sure she's OK though.

So nice to see people posting it is uplifting. The saying or song "There is no place like home" seems apt at the moment as we return to support each other.

Thanks Karen, will make an effort to visit more often, I really miss Catsey and all the lovely folk here but just haven't got enough hours in the day :(

Emma - you're building up aren't you; bungalow to house? Would be very interested to see pics as to extend upwards strikes me as being extremely disruptive!

afternoon all! not got much planned today, have lost an earing so may take it as an excuse to clear some more clutter from my bedroom!

brother came down to fix my gutters (i found one end hanging off and drooping after high winds last week) and he discovered that the end had been tied on with a shoe lace!! . we've been here 4 years, so this is the first we've had to have a look, he managed to take the nails out the original bracket and fit it back up properly! and cleaned all the gunk out which possibly caused it to droop so much. im just glad it didnt cause a bill :)

not too cold here, quite a nice chill with some sunshine :)

also thinking of eileen, im taking no news to be shes still with us, hope shes as comfortable as possible.

Praying that Eileen is comfortable (((hugs)))

It's Monday, laundry done, dog walked and groomed, just about to have a late lunch now. I'm going to have to chase up a non-arrival order this afternoon. I ordered a back issue of a magazine and the transaction is showing on my Visa records for 13th January but no sign of the magazine yet. Hmmm!

Glad you enjoyed your Schnauzer walk yesterday Angie.

Looking forward to seeing the photos Emma

Hope you get rid of that poorly throat Yola.

afternoon everyone, been busy today picking my mum up and also went for lunch with my mum and mother in law. It was a lovely meal. My mum has decided to stay here over night which is nice, we will take her home after we have been to the vet with skye tomorrow for her boosters. Then its off to the fish shop to hopefully get fish for a new tank we have set up. I saw the update on eileen, sending positive vibes her way aswell from me and the 2 monsters xx

Pamela you will have to post some pics of your tank when you get it set up.

Hi all, hope the various colds and sore throats improve soon. It is a bad time of year for them. I travel on trains and tubes a lot and am sometimes sorely tempted to offer fellow travellers a tissue!

No news from here really. Car serviced (ouch, bread and water for a while here), bank cards and work phone all replaced after last week's theft, just waiting to hear if the insurance will pay out on my own phone and resigning myslelf to not replacing the Radley!

Thinking of Eileen and hoping she is comfortable.

Emma thats almost a rebuild should be good......did you design it yourself or have an architect (imagine you did something that large) Bet it will look superb.

Hi Kazz

We had an architect design it, although downstairs we knew what we wanted we had no idea what we could do upstairs.

Oh and we have also had a full width extension at the back (also to go into the roof)
