Wasnt sure where to put this but Milly has all of a sudden became bald above her eyes and has a few small spots of baldness on her nose. She is not poorly but am taking her to the vet in the morning about it.
Has any one else's cat ever had this and what was the cause and treatment?
Also taking Bernie along to be weighed, he is very boney now but still eating well and was extremely happy to see G again.

Hmmm, it's very bizarre, I am pretty sure they weren't bald this morning.

My cat Rosie is quite bald around her eyes, has been for ages though as she suffers from allergies and on steroids for when it flares up. It's strange that this has come on so suddenly, Elaine. Hope you manage to find out what is causing this.

Thanx Kim, as it turns out it is an allergy, she has had a steriod shot and an atibiotic shot coz her nose looked quite raw this morning. I couldnt think what it could be that she has become allergic to until I remembered that I had changed the brand of cat litter. That's been the only real change so we have changed it back and hopefully it will settle down now.

Bet that's what it is Elaine. I was thinking about that stuff that some people put down on their carpets, but knew you wouldn't use it. Hope that Milly's allergy clears up quickly.

How did Bernie get on?

Bernie has lost another 100gms in weight but is still doing well all things considered.

glad you know what's causing Milly's problem, it probably is the litter as they get down and sniff it. I'm sorry to hear Bernie has lost some more weight but glad he's still doing ok.

Glad you got to the bottom of the problem.

It's good despite the weight loss Bernie is holding his own.

Hi Moli,

Leo may has ear mites and scratching his ear can case fur loss as well. I find an article about here, hope it helps: http://pets.webmd.com/cats/ear-mites-cats

Leo does not have ear mites, he gets his ears cleaned weekly, as he is almost 17, the vet has put the thinning of fur on his ears as his age..:)
