View Full Version : Poor little Mindy

Im so annoyed with myself. Went against my gut instinct & left baby Mindy out of her crate last night. When the wee soul got up onto my bed, Tim went for her. It took me over an hour to get her out from under the bed. She was petrified & even frightened of me

Mindy is not an average 12 week old kitten, she is exceptionally tiny, more like a 6 week old kitten. She cant even jump the way most kittens do.

Im annoyed as i felt angry towards Tim - it wasnt his fault, it was mine. Annoyed as i feel I have failed this tiny little kitten & put her at risk. Im supposed to be protect, care & keep her safe........

This morning she is ok, creeps past Tim giving him a very wide berth so any relationship with him has taken a knocking & will take time to repair

As for me, lesson learnt, next time I will go with my gut
instincts :( its just a shame i let it happen in the first place
:(

Poor wee kitten - but don't beat yourself up about it please as that won't help her. You couldn't have predicted that Tim would have reacted in such a way. I am surprised as I would have thought he would have been easier for her to win over than Amber and it's proved the other way round.

Guess you'll just have to keep her crated until she is more able to stick up for herself and make her crate a lovely snuggly cosy safe place for her to be.

Shes such a wee poppet & bad boy Tim spent the whole night purring

Shes back to normal swiping at the dogs as they walk past her :)

Have a vet appointment at 2pm - hopefully get her little problem sorted. Wish us luck.

Oh! So sorry to hear that Velvet. What a knock for you all. I agree with Angie though, you could never have predicted that reaction from Tim.

Good luck with the vets trip.

Yes, you had no way of knowing that Tim would react so badly; it did seem as if it was time to skip the crate. I know you feel bad that the wee one was so scared, but don't beat yourself up about it. Anxious to hear what the vet has to say!

Well good news, no blood or infection in her urine, probably an immature bladder which would tie in with her being so tiny & bad start to life - when she matures a bit & gets better control of her bladder, things should improve.

He also cleaned her ears & we have ear drops for the next week

Shes such a good little soul, not a peep out of her the whole way there & back - 40 mins journey each way

When we came back Amber took her out to the conservatory to stalk Bluebottles (flies).

When mum went to sit on her chair an hour or so *later, she discovered one very dead bluebottle :) Well done Mindy!

I am glad there is no cystitis - that's very ouch! Let's hope she grows out of her trouble. Glad she didn't eat that bluebottle - my Pip always did, but seems to have decided that mice are nicer now!
