 Dylan's now taken to trying to climb in the oven when we are cooking

I was doing us something to eat a couple of nights ago and Dylan saw me opening the oven door, next thing we knew he was over and trying to climb in , now we have to send him outside before we do any cooking because he will try climbing in the oven and nearly burning himself

Daft Dylan ................... he's got the intelligence of a brick wall our Dylan does.

(Anyone studying feline behaviour who wants to study Dylan?)

The food you are making must be tasty if Dylan is trying to get into the oven :)

This is one of those situations where curiousity will get Mr. Dylan into trouble.
He is going to have to find other fun things to be curious about...:-D

Hopefully he will realize that the good smell coming from the oven doesn't give him the permission to try to climb into it :cat27 He is such a silly boy ;)

How about this one HK:

Yesterday evening Dylan started having a conversation with .............. the sitting room wall  :lol:He stood meowing at it looking at the wall itself. Silly boy.

I'm going to mention it to the vet next time I take him in, don't think there's anything wrong but it would be interesting to know what the vet thinks Dylan's doing.

Is it a gas oven by any chance?

Cats sure do the silliest of things :)
Maybe the wall had something interesting to say to Dylan lol
Or maybe Dylan wanted to tell the wall his secrets...
or how he plans to get the tasty food out of the oven ;)

I've had to ward Pip off from trying to get in the oven - generally though when it's cold. He just thinks it's a nice dark cupboard and he loves cupboards. I need Shelley to come and clean my oven ...... (hint  )

I haven't caught Pip talking to walls yet, but he did fall asleep in my potting up tray in the greenhouse this morning - it does have some compost in it!

They do say that cats have no feeling of temperature in their paws. I have guards to put over my ceramic hob to protect the cats paws just in case.

We have to put Dylan outside when we are cooking anything
