If I became your cat friend
Imagine where we'd go;
Hunting and fighting other cats
In sun or rain or snow.

You'd tell me all your secrets
The places that you'd been.
You'd laugh about the humans
And all the sights you'd seen.

You'd speak to me of memories
Of what you'd seen of me.
You'd tell me how you'd watched me try
And cry to never be.

You'd say "Don't worry anymore
"Now you're a cat like me
"We'll hunt and feed and sleep a lot
"And that will always be.

But I am just a human
And dreams are all I've made.
I'm not my cat; so safe and sure
For I am just afraid.

Thanks for your replies.

Sometimes a cat's laidback approach to life seems very attractive and we can only second guess how they think.

Nice poem Gladys. Like you I often wonder what little cat thoughts my George and Milly are having or what cat dreams they're having when their little whiskers and paws twitch when they are asleep. George is so laid back he's horizontal
