Well people its been 3 years this month since Tess passed away unexpectedly.

Tess 10.06.2004 -2.06.2008

Around that time I think, I wrote a poem called collars well having gone through the collar box today I rewrote it to this.

I should mention that Tess was my Staffordshire Bull Terrier not a cat.

Collars

Is there nothing left of you for me
of long summer days that used to be,
all I have is my memories of you
among my souvenirs.

A photograph or two
the collar worn by you,
rosettes both red and blue
among my souvenirs.

A few more special tokens
rest within my treasure chest,
As I seek some part of you
among my souvenirs.

I hold your collar and count the memories all
and as my tear drops start to fall,
I find my broken heart
still among my souvenirs.

The space in my heart I gave to you, time heals still
in my head memories of you I find, Staffie smile, wagging tail,
happy walks, snapshots of moments shared with you.
among my most treasured souvenirs.

A lovely tribute to Tess, Kazz. I remember the shock when she died suddenly during surgery; doesn't seem that long ago. RIP, Tess. It does take a while, but the happy memories remain.

Lovely poem and precious memories Kazz.
Last night I dreamed of my border collie, Bronnie who passed away 18 months ago and it was so vivid I swear i could hear her barking when I woke up, :) I miss her every day. x

Thank you all. She was very much a SBT through and through and her character and love of life were second to none although we only had the pleasure for such a short time it was a joy. She was and always will be much loved, our lovely girl who was simply .................a nutter. :) The dog who on trying agility decided through the jumps was better than over, and the tunnel was a perfect place to take a rest.......and on trying flyball worked out the machine gave you one ball at a time whereas the bag of spare tennis balls oh so much more fun...and if you could not free them take the whole bag......I still on occasion find myself looking for her on walks, always a half a gallop behind her half sister Sal. And in the quiet times I swear I "see" her curled up with Sal still.
