He was first painted by my sister about 36 years ago now, when she was at school. Has been repainted a fair few times now and most recently by Molly about 5 years ago. Waiting for Lizzie to hold a paint brush for her turn, he needs a bit of a wash and brush up.

What a quirky fellow!! He doesn't look half bad for being 36 years old!

His foot has been knocked off twice and cemented (I think) back on. He is solid concrete and weighs a tonne.:-D

He has a hole drilled to the concrete betwen his right thumb and hand and holds a flag for occasions, he missed out on the wedding (I forgot)

About 20 years ago he was "rebranded" as Stormin Norman. But has reverted back to plain old Norman for the last 10 years or more.

Wonder if he gets a bit hot in that jumper? Does he have a hat on too? That's probably a good idea in the sunshine :lol: :lol: :lol:

We inherited a gnome here ..... so he's not as old as Norman but he's been repainted twice. It's terrible bad luck (or so I'm told) to try to get rid of a gnome. Would you say Norman is an "honorary" gnome?

Love him ... and the backstory!

Never heard that about getting rid of a gnome!

Yes Angie Norman's last name is Gnome so he is in fact Norman Gnome, although he does not get to formal, although my aunts husband calls him Mr Gnome, I have never heard that about gnomes although there does appear to be some history behind them

1) a legendary creature resembling a tiny old man who ives in the depths of the earth and guards buriedtreasure;
2) a mythical being of a legendary race endowed with exceptional vision and heightened human ensitivities; their task is to provide assistance to all living things; gnomes symbolize integrity, honesty and hard work.

Have some pictures somewhere I am sure of Katie and Sophie when little with Norman. Will try to find them
