Went to see this yesterday; had researched several and this sounded very good: location, price, and the two essentials, cats allowed and a kitchen! Very pleased, like the building (180 units )and the people. I suppose I should look at some other places but this is just what I was looking for, so am going to go with it. I have the paperwork and am on the waiting list. Plan to move in mid to late Summer, well after the op/recovery. Here's the floor plan, and some pics of the demo flat...

I think you will like one floor living. Did it have a garden/sitting area?

Looks really good. Ideal for you and Leia. Is it far from where you are now?

No wi-fi. But my Kindle has built-in, so not a problem. I will probably get a DSL for the computer instead of my dial-up. Cable is available, but don't want it; hardly watch TV except the news so the regular is fine for me. It's a 6 story building with lots of ootside sitting areas with gorgeous views of the City and Maryland. Quite near where I am; it's very near the library I went to when the Georgetown one was closed because of the fire. Living on one floor will feel a bit strange, I suspect, but I'll adapt. I wonder how Leia will feel with no porch and a smaller living space? She sleeps a lot, so sure she'll adjust too. Speaking of Leia, I asked Carolyn for some ;pics!

I assume there are lifts then Eileen otherwise you could end up sharing your oxygen with visitors ;)

LOL, yes, two on each floor. Forgot to mention the dining room, and the common area on each floor; also a meeting room where they show movies and have speakers ocationally. A lot of things to do if you enjoy that sort of thing. It's walking distance to the Tenley subway stop.

Looks good to me. So glad that Leia will be able to join you there. Am sure it will take a bit of getting used to the flat life, but you will get there. :-)

It looks very nice Eileen and if it makes your life easier then that can only be a good thing.
The main thing is you can have Leia with you and get on the computer.

That looks and sounds lovely Eileen, I'm sure you will adapt to living on one floor in no time, it will save your legs walking up and down stairs every day.:)

So glad you will be able to have Leia with you ..... she adapted well to the change at Carolyn's place so there is no reason why she shouldn't get used to this new home:)

That looks just the ticket :D sure it'll seem strange at first being all on one level but my MIL very quickly adapted to similar accommodation (like you she was glad to have her own kitchen) and I'm sure Leia will settle quickly too once you've moved in.

What floor will you be on? will you have a good view?

I'm sure you will be happy there Eileen. You have a good positive attitude and from what you've described there's things to do if you want to join in. Great they have a greenhouse - that's wonderful. I am so glad that they allow pets - it's dreadful when people have to rehome their furry friends. The place MIL is in allows pets - the man in the next room has a budgie and a chap on the same floor has his little dog with him. I'm sure Leia will also settle in.

I don't envy you having to sort out your house, but as Kazz said bit by bit, room by room.

Oh I think its so exciting..............a real adventure rediscovering books and photo's item you have not seen for ages.
And choosing what will suit your needs now.

And so many new strangers......you have yet to meet.
