Alfie ate half a hard boiled egg this evening ..... here is the story....
I fancied egg sandwiches for work tomorrow. I boiled the eggs and took the shell off them and left them in a bowl on the side (to cool) while I ate my tea.
I went back into the kitchen to see half of an egg had been gobbled up and Alfie was stood licking his lips.#
Will it harm him? Or will he have smelly side effects/be bunged up?
Thanks
Tanya

I'm no vet but I shouldn't think it would do him any harm at all. Eggs are nutritious, cats would probably eat them raw in the wild when they could. Mine have always loved a little bit of scrambled egg with no side effects .....

I don't think it will harm him ..... just a plain boiled egg. Several Catsey cats seem to like scrambled egg ..... whether he will suffer smelly after-effects ..... time will tell!

Found this for you, Tanya. Perfectly safe, as it wasn't a raw egg .... chance of salmonella!

Cats are fine with eggs!
I agree, won't do him any harm at all.
Eggs are very nutritious and I regularly give my dogs raw eggs. I don't think the cats would eat them!!

My Mindy used to like raw eggs. She quite happily lapped it up. But I didnt give her too many!

I'm aware of the salmonella/raw egg bit, but have always let the resident cat lick the bowl that I'd beaten the eggs in ........

AJ actually likes stealing a bit of fried egg sometimes:lol: Boiled and scrambled egg are definately the healthier options, but try telling him that:lol: Our boys used to like scrambled egg, especially Rhino and Hernie, but lately have gone off it:? maybe its because AJ has been telling them the joys of having it fried instead:lol:
