I don't think it would be a bad thing if your tail displayed your mood or state of mind ......

I have often wondered whether cats don't think how ill-mannered we are because we don't give clear signals how we're feeling. I'd love to be able to wave my tail slowly and fluff it out when I'm happy! Together with being able to purrrrr.

If we couldn't control the motions of our tail there'd be a lot less hypocrisy in the world .... we couldn't pretend we weren't angry when the tail was lashing, or scared/angry when it was a bottle-brush ....

Hmmmm, I see your points but work has been very tricky recently and it wouldn't have always been a good idea to show my mood - I rarely show annoyance at work and on the odd times I do it has in impact! However, there have been many days when I've returned to enjoy some wonderful 'cat therapy'- nothing like a purring cat to lift a day and when they happily swish tails too- that is great!
