Katie is our little girl Boxer - Tim washes her face!

Katie went to the vets today with her urine sample. I was more optomistic as it didnt look as concentrated/cloudy. Unfortunately it still has blood in it. More antibiotics.

They are going to request her records from original vets & I had taken the itemised bill we had got in Jan of all the scans, x-rays, tests etc she'd had carried out

The vet says if this course of antibiotics dont clear it, she would like to repeat Katie's bloodwork. Think Katie is a mystery to them. The only *course of action left is open surgery & must admit its not a route I would favour, even if they found something in open surgery it may be something that was not correctible, so please keep her in your thoughts

Poor Katie - I do hope that the vet can make a diagnosis without surgery.

This has been ongoing for some time, over a year. After we moved i did consider keeping her with the original vets, however its such a long way from where we now live, nearly 70 miles. The vets we are now with are much the same with regards being right up to date with all latest equipment etc. Theyre a big practise that specialise in Pets, Exotics & Farm animals

Her blood results in January indicated early kidney disease, the vets did not consider it necessary to start her on any treatment. Despite all their tests and scans etc they couldnt find out where the blood was coming from and they decided all they could do was treat the symptoms.

I was not entirely convinced or happy myself and
contacted the RCVS to enquire about a specialist vet who dealt with kidney problems. Apparently there is just the one in the UK and he is now retired, there is no one else so you just have to go along with what your own vet advises:?

I dont know if its connected or not but Katie has been very sick today, I no sooner mopped up than she was sick again - shes been swallowing continuously wanting out to eat grass or if indoors she has been licking the floor. I finally got her settled around 11pm but have withheld food She has been a very miserable little girl

Katie is a wee bit better today in that she ate a little chicken & some wet tray food & not been sick for her breakfast but she is quite itchy this morning.
