There are thousands of leaves still up there and they all ..... need to be raked!!

View from the porch steps ... those fell overnight.

They are a gorgeous colour though! Mind, this comes from someone who hasn't swept leaves much... and suffered lots through school years with the lack of the same - the rain came down and it all got a little smelly...

.... and slippery!

I'd never get rid of the tree though because of the fall. I am a great lover of maples especially! Luckily my OH sweeps the leaves. Does your kindly neighbour do it for you Eileen?

Oh I love that tree, would never get rid of it! If I'm lucky my neighbor Jim with the leaf blower will do it, otherwise I just get out the trusty rake! They do make a lovely colorful carpet, don't they?

LOL, if you are thinking about how fleeting life is, go read Omar Khayyam's Rubiyat.....Fitzgerald's translation!

I think you are very lucky Eileen ........ Mother Nature doesn't lay a red carpet on everyone's front path! ;):D

Trees can be very lucky though. I already have little budlets forming on my goat willow!

It's a promise I hold to.

Isn't that a nice way to looking at it?

My first thought was - confetti

Can sympathise - ours are from a very large [common and definitely not pretty like yours] sycamore. They even block the drains unless you are right there on top of them daily

Our neighbour has one of these and the show of leaves in colour was gorgeous this year. Unfortunately, when the leaves blew off they came tumbling down into my garden as her bungalow is higher up than ours and we were left with the clearing up! Still with such beauty comes a little hard work and I didn't mind at all. :)
