We were passing the cat shelter today and (having just lost Bramble and Chippy) we decided to drop in and have a look.

No surprise to announce that we're now considering a lovely little black 4 month old kitten.

We still have Murphy and Paddy so there's the whole 'should we' 'shouldn't we' thing spinning around in my head just now.

Help :D

I'd second the "go on" - otherwise why did you pop in? You've got room in your hearts for a little kitty ...... haven't you?

I just saw the little black kitten and thought Wow - It's a mini Murphy !

It's the whole issue of a new kitten - keeping it indoors for a period etc etc that I'm trying to get my head around. It was easy when our first cats were kittens but with Paddy and Murphy free to come and go and kids opening doors.....

That's a good thing to think about Phil, but is there no practical solution? You just need to think strategy!

Angie is right! There's always a way, and think of how much fun kittens are and that little fellow needs a loving forever home and playmates .... go, man!

I had an adult cat that loved going in/out in/out all day long when we got our last kitten. You adapt to checking windows, doors etc - not too much trouble really.

As angieh says - why else did you pop in??

Go on - you know you want too.

.............. and it would be very apt getting a black kitten just before Halloween, I'm sure we could all come up with a good name for it, Phil!

I think we've decided that the kitten would be for Hannah (my eldest daughter) if we go for it.

It's a kitten/cat, it's in a shelter, you have the space? time? experience? finances? ... it's a no brainer!!!! ;)
