This has been a good year for the chilis. Took this shot this afternoon; will dry the ones I don't use fresh. These are Thai Hot, not as fiery as habaneros, but a good bite to them!

Ooh, I know it's not quite the same but our jalapenos have been thriving they are growing faster than we can eat them; must be something in the air for spice this year!! :-D

Tink, maybe it's the extra carbon dioxide in the atmosphere with the global warming. The Post had a recent article about how vines seem to be flourishing much more than normal, including (aaaugh!) poison ivy!!

That looks to be a good crop DM.

Thanks, CM, not too bad for a tiny back yard City plot. There are two in that pic, one more off to the left ... and a lot of them have been eaten already. I love Ka Pow chicken (marvellous name) with green chilis.

My crop has been good this year too, although OH puts it down to his activities with a feather at the pollination stage!

I read that you can freeze chillies - have any of you tried doing that?

I've never tried it, Angie, I dry mine.

Here's a link how to do it. If you like them really hot, DON'T de-seed; that's where most of the fire is.

Thanks for that link Eileen - that's an interesting website with some intriguing ideas, such as smoking chillies.
