Aren't they lovely birds? We do have nesting pairs around our way - but only in recent years. They nest at Kingley Vale. I love their cries as they circle.

If I can't come back as a well loved cat, I'm going to be a buzzard.

We have a few pairs around here too. This one was sitting about 20 feet away fom the chooks though :(

Thats a great picture, I haven't seen one since I lived in Scotland!! I am not sure where they hide down here!! :-)

What a gorgeous bird! Doesn't look at all like our buzzards which have ugly bare wattled necks!

oh how lovely :) We had one land on our hedge for about 10 seconds a few years ago, but usually we only see them way overhead. There is lots of country and woods near us so see quite a few of them, but never that close!

Yes, they do - it was just a bit unnerving as it sat there for ages watching very intently. Looked as if it was thinking about it! lol.

Not sure but I think it is one of this years youngsters.
