Come on then give me your thoughts................. :-D:-D

I have started taking packed lunches to work, saving money and mostly cutting down on rubbish food, and eating during the day as I did not previous to being ill, now find I need something to eat between 11-2 or I am almost on my knees.

So looking at ideas.....I am thinking of getting a food flask as well to keep food hot or cold....not got one yet though

But ideas on hot and food welcome.http://www.dogsey.com/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Pasta is nice hot or cold - depending on what sauce you have with it.

I like pesto and pasta cold. ;)

I'm totally unimaginative about lunches: all thru school and college always had the same thing, and in my last job where there were no decent restaurants around:

Sandwich
Crisps
Fruit
Milk

I only realy like sandwiches with Brown bread or Ciabatta.
One of my favourites is Jarlsberg cheese and rocket. Also like wenslydale, rocket and chutney.
Now you will either love or hate this but i like peanut butter and marmite :O.

Chunky soups - if you have a hot flask or a microwave to warm them up on.

Spicy beanburgers with salad - surprisingly filling :D

Couscous and roast veggie salad; either homemade or shop bought

Tuna pasta salad

brown rice and sliced frankfurter with red pepper and a spicy tomato dressing

I could go on . . . . ;)

I fill one of those little plastic boxes (same size as you get a take away chinese or indian in) for lunch most days - depending on what I feel like a mixture of some of the following

lettuce and slices of cucumber
either sliced or cherry tomatoes
bit of cheese or baby belle
hard boiled egg, tuna, prawns or cold meat
pasta in a pesto dressing or rice or slice of bread
garden peas, chick peas or sweetcorn
slices of pepper, carrots or cauliflower bits
baby beetroots
quarter of lemon or drizzle of salad dressing
handful of mixed seeds (sesame, pumpkin, sunflower etc.)
nuts

I usually take a couple of bits of fruit. I also take a smoothie in a flask somestimes or some home made soup - depends on weather.

Okay today I have
Wholemeal bread, little butter, turkey (hand carved from deli) mixed leaf salad tomato, little mayo. 2 x small cartons apple juice, two apples, one clementine (prefer satsuma's, and sometimes have bannana instead) and take; dried apricots, and handful mixed nuts and seeds, and handful of rasins, sultana's etc in a bags as a snack.

Tomorrow I plan on

I have a microwave at work so tend to have soup and bread, sometimes something like beans on toast (have toaster too)... always have fruit in the fridge there too...

Cant stand making lunches up in the morning, so rather take food in and make it at work in their time and not mine :-D

If you have a microwave at work you can do all sorts.

Jacket potatos with all sorts of topping
Sweet jacekt potatoes
Homemade soups and stews
Lamb tagine

How about making your own wraps? You can buy the wraps in any supermarket and then have all sorts of filings, spicy chicken and salad, beans, tuna and mayo etc.

I love those wraps. In my working away from home days I used to love the M&S ones!

Good high energy sandwich (you have to fancy it though!) wholemeal or granary bread, thin spreading of honey on one side, cream cheese on the other (can be light variety) and banana! Good high energy food!

Probably a bit late in the season - chopped up peach + nectarine and plain low fat yoghurt. Good for dieters!

Any sandwich with rocket or watercress or loads of home grown sprouting seeds!
