Aren't they doing well??? Pudding looks so much better. Poor little sweetheart. Helga is a star - 1 kilo is a lot for a cat to loose and doesn't she look so much slimmer. Well done Helga.

Loki does look uncertain, but it's better he sticks near to home and isn't he a handsome fellow?

A tribute to your TLC, farthing. They look like different cats! How much has Helga lost?

Yes, indeed. Pudding is looking so, so much better. Poor love - she was just skin and bone :( Good to hear Helga's shedding the lbs . . .

Took Helga in to be weight checked today- she is.......6.14kgs.:D
She is also feeling much better, she's started to play in the evening with a mouse on a string and has turned into a really lovely girl.

I took Pudding in today for a weight check and a quick look over. She often looks a bit out of it and can sometimes be a bit wobbly when jumping up onto things.
She has put on the weight she lost when she had the fluey turn ( back up to 2.8kgs) and the vet can't find any thing obvious, except that her eyes are a bit dilated and starey. We are going to book her in for a blood pressure check, just in case, although he did wonder if the wobbles were cause by muscle loss and age. Still I would pefer to check things out before assuming that.

Good about Pudding's weight gain. Fingers crossed that her blood pressure will be OK.

How does the vet check for blood pressure?

It's pretty much the same as they do for humans Angie. They put a small cuff around the leg and inflate/deflate it.
Quick, painless and with minimum dicomfort.

Hope all goes well for Pud' xxx

I did wonder Elaine - thanks!

Yes, is just like a human, although it can be difficult for the vet to find the pulse, especially when the cat gets fed up waiting.
