That's one very mean-looking wolf! very clever stylish work, I'd never heard of Sally Matthews I'm ashamed to say.

Wow - the first picture I actualy thought for a moment that some poor ewe had been rescued from a muddy ditch.

Excellent work - I do like her stuff. Thanks for posting - but I hope we never see a wolf in our fields!

I first came across Sally Matthews' work in Grisedale Forest in The Lake District some years ago. She had done some wild boar made from mud and twigs, that of course gradually disintegrated. They were wonderful. Her knowledge of animal anatomy is evident in her work - her dad was a vet.

Stunning! I love this kind of public art, especially when it's relevant to the surroundings. In Reading, outside our scabbiest shopping mall we have some bronzes of . . . . a collection of shopping bags stood on the floor

There was also a sculpture trail at Christmas Common which was really magical; huge totem poles, a giant table with chequered blue/white 'cloth' on it. Sadly the Health and Safety powers-that-be decided it was not safe . . . so they junked it all.

Great pics, interesting sculpture. They do look like real sheep that have been drenched in something.
