Hi

We have taken in a stray I have called Annie, it has taken around 11 months for her to trust us, we love her to bits, but she keeps bringing home her catches re mice birds, I have tried a bell round her neck does not work, has anyone any ideas how to stop her, I make sure she has plenty food hoping that will stop her but no

Hi phamie30 - well done taking in Annie and taking the time and patience to get her to trust you. She is a lucky girl to have a caring home and is showing her appreciation by bringing you presents. There is nothing that I know of to get her to stop doing that - it's in her nature.

I know it's horrible - I don't like my two bringing creatures in. It's shrews atm. I did see some gadget on the Net that warns of cat being around. I'll see if I can find it again and post the link if I do.

Here it is! (http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product_review.asp?dept_id=38&pf_id=1252)

I've just read the reviews of that particular product and they are not good! But one reviewer did mention sewing about 8 bells to her cat's collar, which could be an alternative (and quite a bit cheaper too!)

It's too ingrained in their nature; nothing really helps. Many experienced hunters can learn to stalk without making the bell ring; maybe eight would work ...??? It's not nice, but it's the way cats are. Bless you for taking her in and giving her a loving home.

Being a stray, thats how she fed herself, by hunting..as others have said cannot see her stopping now..good for you, giving her a loving home..
